There are so many crypto exchanges in Kenya out there on the internet. Some of them are great platforms for trading, while others may be scams or have terrible customer service.
This article will help you decide which crypto exchange is best for you and your needs!
1). Coinmama Supports 190 countries
Coinmama in Kenya is a great option for those who need to buy Bitcoin or Ethereum with either a credit card or cash.
They are one of the few platforms allowing you to instantly purchase coins, without any limits on how much you can deposit at once.
They also support most countries worldwide, making them perfect for people from places like Europe and North America (where many other exchanges don’t operate).
Unfortunately, they do not accept PayPal. You must use your debit/credit card unless Coinmama adds this payment method later in 2018!
2). Binance Supports 190 countries
Binance is a very popular crypto exchange in Kenya, and for good reason.
They have low fees compared to other platforms (0.05%), they offer an extensive selection of coins with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, NEO/GAS, and more all being traded here – something not found elsewhere!
Their interface is also great because it’s fast and easy to use even for beginners in the space.
The only real downside we can see from Binance is that you won’t be able to deposit fiat currency like USD or Euros directly into your account unless you’re verified already.
You will need Bitcoins first before sending them over to make an order on this platform.
3). Cex.io – Supports Worldwide
Cex.io is a London-based exchange that allows you to buy Bitcoin and Ethereum with either debit or credit cards, Skrill or SEPA bank transfer.
They also accept fiat currencies such as USD/EUR which makes them very different from other exchanges on this list.
Their interface isn’t the best we’ve seen but it’s fairly easy enough for beginners to start trading cryptocurrencies in Kenya right away.
We would only recommend Cex if they support your country and payment method (for example, many people in some countries like India can not use their service because Coinbase doesn’t allow Indian citizens).
This is another one of the best crypto exchanges in Kenya to look for.
4). LocalBitcoins – Supports Worldwide
LocalBitcoins is a great way to meet local Bitcoin buyers and sellers in Kenya without having to go through an awkward online exchange.
Local Bitcoins allow people from just about anywhere around the globe to trade fiat currencies for cryptocurrency with ease, and their escrow service helps protect both parties when things don’t work out as planned (which is nearly always due to one of them not fulfilling their end of the bargain).
This platform also offers its own wallet which makes storing coins very convenient!
However be warned, this website isn’t regulated or insured by any government entity so you’ll have no recourse if something goes wrong here.
Do your research before using it – but where else can you find such high privacy?

5). Kraken
Kraken is one of the popular and well-known crypto exchanges in Kenya platform that allows you to deposit fiat currencies like USD/EUR and trade Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies easily.
They’ve been in business since 2011 – making them almost the longest-running high-volume trading platforms on this list.
The only downside we can see from Kraken is that they do not accept credit cards or Paypal at all, which some people rely heavily upon for their day-to-day purchases (and also makes it harder to pick up coins if your country doesn’t support LocalBitcoins).
6). Paxful – No Verification Needed
Paxful is almost the same as LocalBitcoins, but their platform also supports other payment methods like Skrill or PayPal.
They are a very new service that only started in 2015 so it’s great to see them making cryptocurrency more accessible for everyone around the world.
Their support team has been extremely helpful whenever we’ve contacted them with questions – something not always found on these types of platforms!
Unfortunately, they don’t offer fiat currency deposits at this moment in time (but that may change soon).
You can trade Bitcoin here unlike some other exchanges listed here who stick to strictly crypto-to-crypto trading pairs due to regulatory issues and banking problems worldwide.

7). Coinbase
Coinbase is a very popular crypto platform in Kenya that has been in business since 2011 and supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin purchases with fiat currencies like USD/EUR.
Unfortunately, their fee structure isn’t the best on this list – but they’re often used by beginner cryptocurrency users due to how easy it can be to get started buying coins from them.
You’ll have an easier time using Coinbase if you already have one of the major credit cards available here in your country though.
Their interface is also simple enough for online trading beginners to use so we would recommend giving them a try too.
Their website was down once when we last tested it out however which seems pretty common these days, unfortunately (due to how many people are trying similar tricks).
8). Luno – A Great Exchange for South Africans
Luno is a popular cryptocurrency platform that has been in business since 2013 and supports Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin purchases with fiat currencies like ZAR.
Although they’re based in Singapore it’s extremely easy to get started trading on their website if you live in the same country! Banking via credit card isn’t available here unfortunately but bank transfers are both fast and cheap – so we recommend them highly.
Their fees are also among some of the lowest on this list which makes Luno an attractive choice for serious traders who have small amounts of coins to trade regularly.
9). Remitano
Remitano is a very new platform that has been in business since 2016 and supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin purchases with fiat currencies like USD/EUR.
You will have an easier time using Remitano if you already have one of the major credit cards available here in your country though.
Unfortunately, they don’t offer bank transfers either which means there’s no way to deposit or withdraw fiat currency from them – something we hope they add soon!
Their interface isn’t the easiest on this list but it should be simple enough for beginner cryptocurrency users who are looking to get involved quickly without having much experience making transactions online.
They also support altcoins recently added to their platform which makes it even more appealing for beginners!
10). Quidax
Quidax is a very new platform that has been in business since 2017 and supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin purchases with fiat currencies like ZAR, one of the best crypto exchanges in Kenya.
Although they’re based in Nigeria it’s extremely easy to get started trading on their website if you live in the same country!
Banking via credit card isn’t available here unfortunately but bank transfers are both fast and cheap – so we recommend them highly.
Their fees are also among some of the lowest on this list which makes Quidax an attractive choice for serious traders who have small amounts of coins to trade regularly.
Their interface is clean enough for beginner cryptocurrency users too which means there should be no problem getting going quickly.
If you want something simple yet effective Remitano may be better suited to your needs but we do recommend trying Quidax out if you’re looking for something a little more advanced.
11). Cash App
